Help when you need it

Monster Keyboard Support

Setup instructions and quick solutions for the native spelling tools, Messages picker, and optional custom keyboard.

Use Apple's native keyboard

  1. Choose an installation profile in MonsterKeyboard.
  2. Tap Teach iOS Spellings, or Update iOS Spellings later.
  3. Use Verify a Word to check a term in Apple's text checker.

Learned words are recognized by Apple's text checker, but Apple does not guarantee a particular QuickType suggestion or autocorrection. The optional custom keyboard is not required.

Use MonsterKeyboard in Messages

  1. Open a conversation, tap +, and find MonsterKeyboard under More if needed.
  2. Search for a term and tap its name to insert it into the draft.
  3. For optional GIFs, choose Enable GIFs, then Load Online Sprites.
  4. Tap GIF beside an available Pokémon, preview it, and choose Insert GIF.

GIFs have a transparent background and no credit footer. Credits and source details remain in the preview and can be copied separately; attribution requirements still apply. Original-game artwork is labelled separately and its reuse rights are not verified. The picker never sends your message.

If a GIF is missing or will not load

  1. Open GIF options and choose Refresh GIF Availability.
  2. Confirm you have a network connection; names remain available offline.
  3. Try Clear Downloaded GIF Cache, then enable online sprites again.

Not every Pokémon has eligible animation files and complete source records. Clearing the cache also turns online sprites off.

Enable Monster Keyboard

  1. Open the Monster Keyboard app.
  2. Open Settings, then choose General > Keyboard > Keyboards.
  3. Tap Add New Keyboard and select Monster Keyboard.
  4. Open a text field and use the globe key to select Monster Keyboard.

Monster Keyboard does not request Full Access. The dictionary, Find & Copy, and Messages picker work without enabling the custom keyboard; custom-keyboard typing features require selecting it.

If the keyboard does not appear

  1. Confirm Monster Keyboard appears in your enabled keyboards.
  2. Close and reopen the app containing the text field.
  3. Use the globe key to cycle through enabled keyboards.
  4. Restart the device if the keyboard was just installed.

If settings do not update

  1. Choose the setting or theme in the Monster Keyboard app.
  2. Switch to another keyboard, then return to Monster Keyboard.
  3. If needed, close and reopen the app where you are typing.

Privacy

The keyboard works offline and does not collect or transmit typed text. Read the complete Privacy Policy.
